Secretary of State - Jane Nelson

Members, please cut and paste this letter and send it to Secretary of State Jane Nelson when you are able . . .

"On behalf of the majority of Texas Republicans, we declare our full support for closed primary elections in Texas. Texas Republicans entrust you to facilitate the necessary protocols, in an efficient manner, to ensure only registered Republicans are allowed to vote for Republican candidates in our State Primary Elections. Additionally, we stand with Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Chair Abraham George in his efforts to assure that indeed, only registered Republicans are casting ballots in our RPT Primaries.

Furthermore, we applaud Attorney General Ken Paxton’s request to have the court move expeditiously to strike relevant sections of the Texas Election Code as unconstitutional. Sections which allow non-party affiliated voters to participate in our Primary Elections violate our first amendment right of association. Those who share our conservative Republican principles can get involved in the political process, run for and be elected to public office, and govern according to same.

In response to the joint motion from the Texas GOP and our Attorney General Paxton, it is our fervent hope that primaries will be closed by 2026, rather than 2028. We implore that you, as our Secretary of State, to act on the will of "We the People" of Texas. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Concerning Government Shutdown

Senate Democrats have fully exposed their true colors, voting [ex. ten] times to keep the government shutdown. This is an intentional crisis, created by the Democrats to hold the American people hostage for a $1.5 trillion left-wing wish list that includes taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens.

For over two weeks, Democrats have put political games and illegal aliens ahead of hard working Americans. Now, President Trump and OMB Director Russ Vought are fighting back. They are using every tool to reallocate resources, securing pay for our troops, border patrol, law enforcement, and for essential services like WIC.

Texans appreciate Senators Cruz and Cornyn holding Senate Democrats' feet to the fire to pass a clean continuing resolution and put the American people first, and President Trump and Director Vought for ensuring the federal government serves the American people, not Democrat political games.
