Lake Travis Republican Club Lunch Meeting

October’s guest is George Prescott Bush, the Texas Land Commissioner.  He assumed office in 2015 and his current term ends on January 17, 2023.  Mr. Bush is running for election for Attorney General of Texas having declared his candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on March 1, 2022.

He is the son of former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush, as well as the nephew and grandson of Presidents George W.  Bush and George H.W. Bush, respectively.  Mr. Bush worked on his uncle's first presidential campaign in Texas after college and later served as deputy finance chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.

Mr. Bush was born in Houston, Texas and speaks fluent Spanish, which he learned from his mother.  Although a Texas native, he was raised primarily in Florida, where his father served as Governor from 1998 until 2007.  Mr. Bush began his career as a teacher in Miami.  He…
