A Winter Message from the Lake Travis Republican Club

Updated: Mar 18

Happy winter to all Lake Travis Republican Club members! It seems winter arrived a bit late this year, but it’s finally here. I hope this season finds you healthy, encouraged, and prepared for the year ahead.

Looking Forward to 2026

I am truly excited about what lies before us in 2026. Our conservative club has a full calendar and much to be grateful for. Thank you for being part of this journey as we continue to fight the righteous fight for liberty and freedom.

If you’ve been attending our monthly luncheon meetings regularly, you may have noticed that since September, we’ve introduced a monthly presentation theme in addition to our featured guest speaker.

  • In our transition month at the start of the new fiscal year, we held our annual membership meeting, focusing on administration and a review of our updated bylaws.

  • October centered on the current status of the City of Lakeway.

  • November continued that local focus with an inside look at what’s happening in the City of Bee Cave.

  • December shifted attention to our Lakeway Police Department.

  • And, most recently, January featured presentations on health, wellness, and longevity.

I heard some feedback that January’s program ran a bit long in this area. I’ll admit—this is a topic I’m particularly passionate about, so this themed segment was planned to be longer than normal. That said, we started early, covered the material thoroughly, and still wrapped up on time. I appreciate everyone’s patience and engagement in this very important subject while waiting for our very special guest speaker – Congressman Wesley Hunt. He was great!

Upcoming Luncheon Themes

Looking ahead, February’s luncheon theme will be “All Things Political.” I sincerely hope you can and will attend this very informative meeting. You will walk away better educated on the political process, voting, and practical ways you can be personally involved in shaping the future of our state and our nation.

In the coming months, you can also expect club themes and presentations covering:

  • Emergency Management Systems

  • America First policies and priorities

  • 911 dispatch operations

  • Natural disaster preparedness

  • Local and state judicial systems

  • Artificial intelligence

  • The Texas National Guard

  • A Lakeway Town Center construction update

  • TXDOT expansion plans

A Call for Photos

Now, I have a brief ask… we are in need of photos! First, please make sure you have a headshot photo uploaded to your membership profile, along with any missing contact information under - “My Account.” Additionally, if you take photos at LTRC events, we encourage you to upload those to our website as well. Here’s how:

  1. First, visit www.laketravisrepublicanclubtx.com and make sure you're logged in.

  2. Once you can see your name displayed in the top-right corner, select “My Groups” and choose “LTRC Membership Group.”

  3. In the “Discussion” section, your notice - “Share Something,” select the Photo tab, and upload all your pictures of our events that you are able to take or have stored.

It may sound complicated, but it’s actually quite simple—and it makes a big difference. These photos help us share our story, preserve our history, and highlight member engagement. This is especially important as we prepare for several upcoming events such as:

  • Our LTRC Voting Training session at the public library this month

  • The Lakeway Independence Day Parade

  • Our upcoming “Spring Fest 250” Celebration Rally

  • Planned Lake Travis boat outing to our June Happy Hour

  • In fact, all of our Happy Hour Events!

  • Also activism activities at the Capitol and other potential locations (TBD)

Engage with Us

We need your participation! One of the most valuable tools we have as a club is our online forum (the LTRC Membership Group page on our website as described above). This space is visible only to members and is designed to help us stay informed, connected, and engaged in between our meetings and events.

We encourage every member to participate by sharing articles, links, or political insights you come across that you believe would be helpful, or important matters for others in the club to see. If you uncover local or statewide issues, discover events worth attending, or have ideas on how we can continue strengthening our club and conservative presence in Central Texas, this is the place to share them. Think of the LTRC Membership Group page as a centralized hub where we help inform one another, exchange ideas, and build momentum together. The more we engage and contribute, the stronger and more connected our club becomes.

Speaker Suggestions Welcome

Do you have speaker suggestions? If you have ideas for future featured guest speakers at our monthly luncheons, we would love to hear them. Your input will help keep our future programming strong, relevant, and engaging. Please send any speaker recommendations directly to our new Programs Director, Rick Kilmer, at: kilmer8@gmail.com. Rick—and the Board—will greatly appreciate your offered suggestions.

Important Voting Reminder

Finally, please don’t forget that early voting for the Republican primary runs from February 17th through February 27th. Voting is so very important and it is your civic duty. PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!!

Thank you again for your involvement, your energy, and your commitment to making our club great! Through the synergy effect of combined efforts - we will build a strong, informed, and engaged conservative community with a BIG RED WALL that will become impenetrable!

As always . . .
