January Newsletter

The Sky is Falling... The Sky is Falling...

Dear LTRC Members,

Greetings from Jamaica! Today is Christmas day and I’m celebrating this season with my wife in Ocho Rios!  A much-welcomed vacation for both of us since the kiddos were doing their own things this year. After attending church today, I pondered much on what to write in this upcoming month’s Newsletter? January is the start of a new year, and by the time you receive this newsletter, you will probably be reminiscing about 2025, poised and energized to take on new goals and challenges in the new year.  Well hang on… it’s going to be quite a year for our conservative club, the state of Texas, and our great nation in coming months.  Happy 250th Birthday to the United States!

Many of you, like me, are wondering what the future holds for those generations behind us.  Inheriting a very divided country with a seemingly corrupt government at all levels, population decline with huge immigration issues, school indoctrination, a socialist New York City mayor, and a continued push for a genderless society in America! Just what type of legacy are we leaving to our kids, and their kids for their future?  OMG!

Although under the Trump administration we are making some progress to fight back the evil-doers that want to destroy our country, I want to address something that most Republicans don’t discuss openly (and several of you may be quite surprised to hear me say). Please practice tolerance and patience, and execute your conservative position with love and understanding -- especially among each other. Everyone has an opinion.  Some are fearful that there is simply no hope with a “the sky is falling” mentality.  Others, have a more optimistic viewpoint of things and just like throwing a rock into a pond, there will be waves produced, but things eventually usually return to a steady state of normalcy. I’m not advocating for you to sit on the sidelines and not be engaged in making sure the outcome is a positive one, however.  Quite the contrary.  We are all God’s children and need to make sure we follow the basic Christian principles this country is founded upon. Which means--we must ALL step up with a bit of sacrifice and do our part to stop the waves produced by those throwing ugly stones. Also, keeping a positive attitude is so important and remembering and believing that in the end -- good always triumphs over evil! (history proves this to be true time and time again). What is harmful is admonishing others that may be in a different place than you are politically, or putting down someone that subscribes to every conspiracy theory imaginable.  Remember as Republicans, we are bound together in spirit to produce the outcomes necessary to move the country and our state in the right direction and not be divided among ourselves. We must not lose our esprit de corps focus of being on the same team with the same conservative goals and energies needed for positive change.  Please disengage in squabbling over things that are usually pretty trivial. The other side uses turmoil tactics quite well.  They often create a level of mistrust so that conservative infighting occurs which causes us to lose sight of the true enemy we are fighting against (liberals) in our American values and psychological culture war. Bottom line – Be Nice.  Respect others on our team that have perceptions and thoughts that may be contrary to yours.  Understand that the information they have was obtained by some media outlet or other influential person that may, or may not, have the right information (yet they may spread it as if it’s total truth). No, I do not believe that the “sky is falling” especially after much interaction with Gen Z generation young adults.  They grew up in an environment where they don’t trust anything being said or anyone saying it.  They question everything and everyone and dig deeper than most other living generations at present.  I believe that this generation will be the one’s not only to follow the beliefs and outreach displayed of Charlie Kirk, but will also be the ones to transform this country back to our traditional patriotic values and the way it used to be when you and I were growing up.

So don’t worry, be happy!  Life is WAY too short to do otherwise.

We live in the greatest county ever, and with combined diligence and positive synergy efforts, we will surely be able to keep it that way.
