Letter From the President

LTRC Members:

This is Gerry Ward, the newly elected President of the Lake Travis Republican Club. I am

also a Director of True Texas Project (Hill Country), and a Travis County Republican Party Precinct Chairman. My main focus will be serving our conservative club now and into the future. I am honored to have been selected and elected to this position. We will have a new, energized focus and goals as we grow our club membership in the Austin area. We WILL be known as the premier conservative organization providing education and activism. We will also host many monthly and yearly social events themed “Party with a Purpose,” in addition to our normal monthly afternoon membership meetings featuring spectacular speakers.

On a more disheartening note, as I write this letter of introduction, it is important to focus on the most talked-about event that happened yesterday: the devastating news of the assassination of America’s strongest conservative advocate – Charlie Kirk, Founder of Turning Point USA.

As the killer has yet to be identified, it is increasingly apparent that this was a trained shooter with escape and evade tactics. This is not typical of a frustrated liberal. It seems more likely to be a premeditated “hit” by an entity that believes cutting off the head of the “most venomous Republican snake” will cause the snake to die. This is a serious miscalculation. This action will only energize the organization that this young man started, as well as the rest of the true Americans in our country.

If there is one thing that Charlie Kirk proved, it is that one man CAN make a difference! Even one who is not an elected official, but just an ordinary U.S. Citizen willing to speak out on the differences between right and wrong, good and evil. He will surely be missed. Just like the slogan “Fight, Fight, Fight,” we will now hear for years: “Remember Charlie” as a reminder to carry on with his mission of righting the wrongs and dispelling falsehoods spread by the liberal media and other misguided Americans brainwashed by Globalists who desire world domination.

There are people on the right who say he will never be replaced – also wrong! You don’t pull the tail of a sleeping lion without producing surprising outcomes. The Democrats are simply mistaken. With the death of this highly respected and beloved leader, thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, will come out to fill the void he leaves behind through his martyrdom. He was revered and followed by many, and his truth will carry on. will carry on.

This emergent leader was admired for his courage and steadfast views on Christianity. He represented the ideal image of what all Americans should strive to be. While our young freedom-loving spokesman may be gone, the voice he generated against evolving wokism will now be supercharged. The spark he ignited, which lit the initial fire for patriotism, will become a raging inferno! I believe his loss will fan a fire much stronger than our President’s attempted assassination last year, but time will tell.

So, this has happened. Now what? What can you do as a single individual? I suggest you join efforts to create a synergy effect of local conservatives by visiting or, even better, joining the Lake Travis Republican Club. In the past, we have not been vocal and have not carried forth with a platform of solidarity in activism. As of today, that changes. The passing of this icon has set the example for all of us to do more. We must honor his memory by getting up and becoming part of the solution to stop the hate, vulgar speech, and evil actions we see daily. We have too much to lose by ignoring this issue as if it will magically go away or it’s someone else’s problem.

We, collectively, CAN save this nation from demise. We will follow our laws and ethical values to crush the opposition. Quite frankly, we have had it with the leftists imposing their values on this country that we love. It’s up to us to squash the permutation of evil injected into true American values, attempting to turn our beloved country into something it was never meant to be. Freedom means something. I signed up a long time ago and took an oath to defend those freedoms, even if it meant my ultimate death. Charlie Kirk, a true patriot, believed the same and was a shining beacon for others to follow. In his death, let’s make it mean something! Join me. Let’s pick up that torch and move forward without fear. Let’s focus on building a “Lake Travis Red Wall” that is impenetrable to the Democrats and say, loud and clear, that Americans will take it no more and that they pulled the wrong tail. Bring it!

My very first statement as President in our recent Board meeting was:

"I don’t believe in the word “can’t.” There is always a way!" Together, we can turn this country, this county, and our cities around. We CAN make a difference just as Charlie Kirk did. I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t believe it.

Again, in the Democrats’ eyes, they believe if they eliminate this leader, we will fall into submission as scared lambs. What they don’t know is that the majority of Americans are strong sheepdogs, ready and able to take on the wolves and win!

Today is a day of mourning and remembrance. Please don’t forget those who battled during the attack on our country and the loss of life on September 11th. Tomorrow will also be a day of remembrance for our friend Charlie Kirk and his family. If you can, please join me in Georgetown at 7:30 PM for the memorial service of this hero who passed.
